I’m currently a grad student in sociocultural/medical anthropology at the University of Kansas. My studies have focused on the use, appropriation, and commodification of the practices and plants associated with both indigenous and mestizo shamanism in the western Peruvian Amazon. Currently I am beginning a project examining the use of tragos afrodisíacos — plant and animal infused liquors imbibed for their sexual powers. I’m also a DJ part-time, although I don’t get out as much as I’d like to. You can find some of my mixes on my SoundCloud Page.
